I'm still reading The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I'm not managing my time well enough to finish reading it. Here's an excerpt from pg. 273.
Henry: I'm sitting on a radiator in a musty room full of boxes of prayer books. Gomez is pacing back and forth, smoking. He looks terrific in his tux. I feel like I'm impersonating a game show host. Gomez paces and flicks his ashes into a teacup. He's making me even more nervous than I already am.

Really nice one.How have u been?Been a while since I heard from u.n u didn't c my blog?
I enjoyed The Time traveller's wife too.
I haven't read that one - I'll probably see the film version, instead. That happens most of the time with me. I'm more of a film person than a book person, believe it or not. I'm one of the people that is never disappointed in an adaptation, because I just prefer the medium of film over books.
What I'm reading at the moment:
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
I LOVE it. I was trying to finish the book before watching the film version, but I just couldn't do it. My husband and I watched it on Monday night. And I've still got a third of the book to go.
Adored the film version!
I read The Time Traveler's Wife and really enjoyed it, but I've heard the movie doesn't hold up.
I'm currently reading The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb. He wrote She's Come Undone and I Know This Much is True, both of which I really enjoyed. I've put off reading this one because it is about the Columbine massacre, but it is really about the deconstruction of a woman and a marriage because of the killings. As a school person, it has taken me a while to be able to read about this -- too close to the bone.
I do most of my reading in the colder months..Oh yea...the colder months are here. LOL.. I am putting away my summer animal and plant guidebooks and then will get back to reading... Nice idea for a post I think Michelle...
My reading pile is about to wobble over and this book is in it. Hope it's not too long before I start, but I'm struggling with my eyes closing too soon when I sit down to read. Currently reading Clara, by Janice Galloway which is a fiction based on the life of Clara Schumann, the pianist and wife of the composer.
I really liked the "Time Travelers Wife" and the movie was good too! I just started "Homer's Odyssey" by Gwen Cooper. It's the story of a little black cat with no eyes.
I'm reading Dream House - it's a scary old book - probably no one else would even like, lol.
I haven't read that yet, but will, when I can get it out of the library.
I am reading three now.
Cherokee Medicine Man, by Robert Conley. (from my hometown in Oklahoma)
The New Feminine Brain by Mona Lisa Schulz (good)
White Lies by Jayne Ann Krentz (for fun)

I'm reading: The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone. Talk about a great trip back in time, fascinating reading. An oldie but a goodie.
Thanks for this post re: The Time Traveller's Wife, I want to read this book. Perhaps see the movie too. Usually the film version disappoints me.
Hugs and Happy Weekend, G
I've just started reading Texaco by patrick Chamoiseau, a novel based on historical events in Martinique. It's very original and intriguing so far.
I was just looking at Time Traveler's Wife at the store an hour ago. How fun to see it show up here. I must be getting a nudge to read it. :D
Have a super Sunday!!!
Hugs, JJ
Michelle, I so look forward to your paper cuts. I really like all the variations of interest which these women have, and your interests as well.
I live with teens so I am reading the Twilight series by 'Madame' S. Myers. I truly wanted to see what has turned my beloved Forks into a destination. Knowing that area so well has led to some interesting insight into these fantasies.
Michelle...just wanted to let you know that I get your blog in google reader with no problem. You asked about my mallard photo and if he was the one who had a run in with a snapping turtle. I've had several ducks injured by snappers in the pond. Mostly they don't survive the injuries, but I did rescue a duckling that was grabbed by a small snapper and she did well...Michelle
I'm reading a lot of classic books at the moment - Pride and Prejudice, Agnes Gray, The good earth and one Neil Gaimen - the graveyard book which is okay but I guess it isn't quite my kind of taste
I'm reading, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" by Muriel Spark. It's a slim volume, but not a particularly easy read as it meanders through time and experience.
I have a shelf of books (collected at thrift stores) that awaits me. I select the book that strikes me at the time, so I never know what will be next.
I'm following you on Twitter now.
Right now I'm reading 9 Dragons by Connelly. My favorite recent book is The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba.
