Friday 5's words this week are made up for your enjoyment. My hope is that everyone will have fun with these words and make up a poem as good as Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, found below. Happy Writing~

    Jabberwocky
    by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
    Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    "Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought--
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
    And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
    And burbled as it came!

One two! One two! And through and through
    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
    He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
    O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
    He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

Oh Paisley~ I couldn't wait to see what your comment was going to be today. I knew you would get a kick out of this one. I can't wait to see what you come up with. I believe I might just have stumped you this time. All kidding aside, I hope you enjoy writing for this one. Have a nice day.

this one's a good challenge, from the Jabberwocky poem, those sound like make-up words but I can't tell, it sounds fun though

    christine Thursday, April 17, 2008

michelle, you cack... I, mean crack me up! I can't believe you actually put it in there!

I told my husband about my mistake, and you wouldn't believe the story he came up with. I might try to put it in a very silly poem.

Michelle Johnson Thursday, April 17, 2008

Christine I just couldn't help myself. I had to use this one because it was to good to pass up. I hope you didn't mind me using your word. Can't wait to see what you write. Have a nice day.

I actually have done a tribute to Lewis Carroll before A Child's Treasure

So I can't wait to do this one. In fact I've half written it already. As Carroll was a mathematician, I will be using that as a theme.

Michelle, I didn't use the Friday Five, at least not yet,
but I did come up with a poem using portmanteau words, kind of like Jabberwocky. So, here it is. i had fun reading lists of words, and trying to come up with a crazy poem.

    Frankenword beasts

And you can consider "cack" your word!

I'm still going to try to put it in a poem.

I participated in the Friday5 (dont know abt it being good:)) but did it anyway...

    christine Friday, April 18, 2008

Hey! Everyone inspired me to go ahead and try the words. Mine doesn't sound anywhere near as lovely as the rest of yours do, but it's kind of a funny satire. I have to credit my husband with the last line, which he said with a Frrench accent.

Sorry this took so long. I really had most of it done, but got side-tracked on something else. I have to say, I had a LOT of fun with this.
